First Doctor in Architecture and Urbanism in PPG.au

PPG.au congratulates Matheus Menezes Oliveira for the program's first PhD defense, approved on February 28, 2023.

Matheus studied at DAU/UFV, where he carried out several studies as an undergraduate researcher. He became a master's student at PPG.au after his graduation and returned in 2019 to join the program's first doctorate season. He presented the dissertation entitled "Investigation of the influence of phase change materials on thermal comfort in a model of offices in Brazilian climates", advised by prof. Joyce Carlo. The panel was composed by: Juliana Oliveira from UFAl, Sabrina Barbosa from UERJ, Leonardo Pedrotti from Dep. Eng. Civil from UFV and Paulo Andery from PPG.au/UFV and UFMG.

It is worth noting that Prof. Sabrina Barbosa is a graduate of PPG.au and was the first student to defend her master's degree in the program under the guidance of prof. Tulio Tiburcio. On today, February 28, 2023, the 1st Master of PPG.au was a member of the board of the 1st Doctor formed by PPG.au.
