Joyce Correna Carlo
Presentation
Dr. Joyce Carlo is a professor of the Department of Architecture and Urbanism and the coordinator of Latecae - Laboratory of Technologies of Building Comfort and Energy Efficiency, where she develops activities of lecturing and researching in the undergraduate and graduate majors regarding thermal comfort, daylighting and energy efficiency in buildings. She is also the coordinator of the Graduate Program in Architecture and Urbanism since April 2019.
She was a member of the national advising committee of the Energy Efficiency Labeling Program for Buildings of Inmetro (the government metrology and accreditation organization), an auditor of Inmetro for the Energy Efficiency Labeling Program for Buildings and also part of the organizing committee for launching the Energy Efficiency Program for buildings in Brazil. She is a founding member of the IBPSA Brazil – International Building Performance and a member of the board 2024/2025, local coordinator of Trapecio . She had developed some partnerships for evaluation of energy efficiency and labeling of commercial and residential buildings with many institutions.
Her research currently focuses on building performance simulation, thermal comfort, building-integrated photovoltaics, smart materials and building technologies & climate changes.
